Tavus said its Griffin AI convinced 26 of 54 people on live video calls that they were speaking with a real human, and the company is keeping the model away from customers for that reason. According to BeInCrypto, Tavus calls Griffin the first model to pass the video Turing test, while its previous system fooled 1 of 41 participants. The firm says Griffin-Lite is limited to trusted testers as it builds disclosure features and works with AI safety organizations before a wider release.
