ETH’s price increase looks particularly impressive—but the experience of those who FOMO in may be very different.

In the same market move, the people who got in early and the people who just saw the leaderboard may feel completely different things. The rise looks great, but it doesn’t automatically turn into profit for latecomers.

ETH has gained 1.90% over the past 24 hours, and the current price is about 2,749 USDT. Take another look at the high point: it has already pulled back 1.09% from the highest price during this period.

I put these two price groups side by side to see how much of the upside is actually preserved. The leaderboard compares the current price to the window’s starting point, while those chasing the price are exposed to the drawdown from the peak to now. When both numbers are true at the same time, the in-position experience can differ drastically.

Right now, the price is still sitting in the upper half of this range. You can’t declare the bullish momentum over just based on the pullback. If, going forward, it manages to move back close to the high point, then it’s worth increasing expectations for continuation; if the drawdown keeps widening, then it’s time to reassess this optimism.

If you hide the gain ranking and only look at this pullback, would you still give it the same evaluation?
