The UK Competition and Markets Authority said Nexfibre Networks Ltd.’s £2 billion ($2.7 billion) purchase of rival Netomnia Ltd. could reduce competition in the country’s wholesale broadband market, according to Bloomberg.

The watchdog said the transaction could threaten the first major consolidation in the crowded fiber market.
