zkAPI hides your wallet, not you
The Ethereum Foundation, together with the Open Anonymity Project, launched zkAPI on mainnet on October 1, hence #EthereumFoundationLaunchesZkAPIOnMainnet. схема:
- you put ETH or USDC into the vault contract
- your device generates a zk proof
- the server issues a short-lived API key with a dollar limit
- with it, you go to the AI model, and the provider doesn’t know who is paying
It’s a useful thing. But the EF blog itself honestly points out two holes: there’s no network anonymity, and the prompt gives you away. IP is visible, writing style is visible, and what you write—provider reads it as before
So you don’t have to expose your card—smart. But thinking you’re anonymous now is a no
$ETH I’m not holding that for now, so I’m downloading nothing
Who among you pays for AI from a card and would switch to something like this? Or do you not care who can see the payment?
