🇺🇸 The US hit A7 Network: over $17 billion in transactions.
On October 1, the US Treasury imposed sanctions on A7, a financial network linked to Russia that American authorities associate with sanctions evasion. According to FinCEN, its subagents conducted more than $17 billion worth of dollar transactions from January 2025 to June 2026 through companies in third countries and bank accounts.
A Russian token issued by Old Vector LLC was also placed under sanctions, which, according to the Treasury, was used as part of A7’s infrastructure for international settlements. Important: $17 billion is not the entire turnover of A7, but a specific amount of transactions by its subagents over the stated period.

📌 What does this mean for the crypto market?
A7 is a telling example of how crypto assets can be used in alternative financial infrastructure while also coming under sanctions oversight.
For users, this is a reminder: token risk is not only about price and liquidity, but also the issuer, related companies, jurisdiction, and sanctions status.
FinCEN also proposed restricting operations by US financial institutions involving A7’s subagents, but this is only a proposal for now.
