If I talk about my investment history, the biggest blunder was buying 1,200 phones to work as a Douyin (TikTok China) studio. Back then, Douyin didn’t require real-name verification, so anyone could register freely. When a big-name streamer went live, I’d have the studio’s 1,200 accounts jump in to boost their popularity, then I’d刷小黄车 data (place orders but not pay)—all within a month. I got my accounts frequently banned and lost my butt.

What is it for?】
It’s about gathering idle phones worldwide and turning them into a verifiable, privacy-preserving decentralized computing network.
Why use phones? Because phones come with a TEE security chip at the factory (fingerprint payments rely on it). Acurast puts the code into this isolated environment to run. The phone owner can’t see the data, the code can’t be tampered with, and after it finishes, the result is written on-chain. Trust doesn’t rely on server-room people’s character—it relies on the chip.
It’s now connected to 318,000+ phones, covering 175+ countries, with over 1 billion on-chain transactions and 669,000+ deployments. The mainnet goes live in January 2026, based on Polkadot parachains (Parachain ID 3396).
What can it run? REST API, webhooks, scheduled jobs, and lightweight AI inference (e.g., the Laya model, 0.2–1 second classification/moderation/routing). It can’t run large-model pretraining, but for edge inference, privacy computing, and scenarios like residential IP, the phones’ geographic distribution is itself an advantage.
$ACU
is the settlement layer: developers pay for compute, and nodes earn rewards. Even those who don’t run machines can delegate and stake compute. Total supply is 1 billion tokens, with 5% fixed inflation used for nodes, staking, the treasury, and block production rewards.
The core logic is: the more real paid tasks there are, the stronger the demand for ACU payments and burns. Relying only on rewards to attract nodes isn’t that impressive. The real test is whether developers are willing to proactively pay to deploy tasks—only then does the loop truly run.
