Amazon ( AMZN ) is looking to sell around $8 billion worth of advanced Nvidia ( NVDA ) chips to external investors through a new special purpose vehicle. According to the report, the move aims to improve the tech group's financial health amid the surge in spending on artificial intelligence, and adds that the e-commerce giant has been in discussions with investors in recent weeks.
The measure would transfer thousands of Grace Blackwell chips, located in more than a dozen U.S. data centers, to an entity created specifically for this purpose and funded by external investors.
This structure would allow Amazon to keep using the hardware while adopting a financing model with fewer assets.
