Ethereum launched zkAPI on mainnet. Anonymity with a small footnote 🔐

01.10.2026 The Ethereum Foundation presented zkAPI: the user tops up a contract with credits, and then confirms payment for API requests with zero-knowledge proofs. The project is already live on the Ethereum Mainnet. Source: https://blog.ethereum.org/2026/10/01/introducing-zkapi

For <$ETH >, this is an example of using the network outside the usual trading context. But the API provider still sees the request itself and network metadata; zkAPI doesn’t automatically make them confidential. The real impact on ETH demand still needs to be confirmed by usage, not by a headline.

Would you trust such a scheme with sensitive requests without separate IP protection?
