Lloyds and Visa tested a very realistic scenario this time: in a 7-day real cross-border pilot, USDC was used to settle a $750,000 payment obligation.
Don’t interpret this as “the coin price is about to fly.” It’s more like banks and card networks are validating one thing: whether stablecoins can truly get into B2B payments and cross-border clearing. The fact is that USDC is still pegged to the U.S. dollar; in terms of observation, one side is the continuing expansion of on-chain dollar settlement scenarios, while on the other, sentiment around compliant settlement and related infrastructure could be boosted.
If the next step is only smaller-scale pilots, the market will look more like it’s trading a concept extension; but if it can reach normalized transaction volumes, attention to this line will be much higher. Do you want to see it stay at the pilot stage, or keep pushing it toward normalization?
