ME News update, October 2 (UTC+8): A new proposal was introduced at the NEAR Governance Forum by Svrn AI CEO Sal Ternullo. It suggests lowering the NEAR token issuance rate from 2.5% to 1.6% within 24 months, while also long-term pushing toward a fixed total supply. The proposal is currently open for discussion with validators, representatives of House of Stake, and the entire NEAR community. NEAR’s official statement says that the NEAR Intents incident did not involve vulnerabilities in the NEAR Protocol or the native NEAR token; the network continued producing blocks and processing transactions during the period, with no downtime.
