$ALICE This drop is pretty straightforward.
On the 15m chart, it directly dumped 6%, breaking below the lower edge of the last 20-ish 5m candles. The aggressive buy/sell ratio is 0.74, and the sell pressure is real. What’s interesting is that OI is dropping in sync too—15m contracts -1.56%, 1h -2.80%. Roughly 650k in notional has already run.
This doesn’t look like fresh shorts coming in to smash the price. It looks more like longs can’t hold up and are de-leveraging themselves. Stop-losses, position reductions, forced selling—step by step pushing the price down. The OI percentile is already at 98.2%, the highest in the whole pool. Funding rates are also still in the higher percentile recently, which suggests a lot of leveraged long exposure piled in earlier. Now is the liquidation moment.
With this kind of structure, I generally don’t want to catch a falling knife. If there’s no increase in short positions to drive the move, after the drop there’s often a rebound—but before that rebound, check when OI stops falling. If OI keeps dropping and the price keeps grinding lower, then it’s pure long capitulation—don’t rush to scoop.
For a veteran coin like ALICE, it does have some elasticity, but liquidity is just so-so. In the past 24h, turnover is under 60 million U. If a panic sell-off really kicks in, slippage will be enough to ruin your day. Let’s watch first.
