According to multiple reports, Apple will release three new products in one go on October 13:

A brand-new smart home hub (code name J490), the next-generation HomePod mini, and a long-overdue update to the Apple TV.

The core selling point isn’t the hardware—it’s the interaction: as you move in from a corner of the room toward the screen, the interface will transition from large information cards into detailed control items. As different family members approach, it will dynamically switch to their own calendars, reminders, and photos—designed to be a “computer that belongs to the whole family.”

HomePod mini hasn’t been updated in six years, and the Apple TV hasn’t been refreshed in four. This time, they’re being revived together, provided that the new CEO, John Ternus, believes that Siri AI has finally reached a usable threshold.
