【NEAR Intents Confirmed Attacked, Funds Involved Exceed $3.8 Million】

NEAR Intents’ official statement confirmed that its infrastructure was attacked, and on-chain data shows that the amount involved has already exceeded $3.8 million. Initial investigations indicate that the vulnerability originated from a flaw in the Omni deposit/withdrawal infrastructure and the contract interaction. The attacker transferred the anomalous funds from a BSC hot wallet to KuCoin and then further moved them across chains to the Bitcoin network.

The official has completed the contract vulnerability patch. The core services are expected to be restored within 1 hour, and the team has promised full reimbursement for the affected assets. As part of the security response, deposit/withdrawal services on multiple chains including BSC, Polygon, and TON will be additionally suspended for about 12 hours. The case has been reported to authorities and on-chain tracing is underway.

This incident has exposed security risks at the infrastructure level in multi-chain bridging and deposit/withdrawal pathways. Although the official has pledged to compensate, the complexity of tracking cross-chain assets may make it difficult to recover some funds. Next, attention should be paid to the actual restoration progress of NEAR Intents’ core services, as well as the regulators’ handling and interception of the involved funds on KuCoin and the Bitcoin network.
