A notable breakthrough that can be easily drowned out by time, yet carries substantial technical significance: ZKsync’s Airbender team has demonstrated “how just two 5090 graphics cards can prove every single L1 EVM block,” with power consumption of about 1 kilowatt.

Where’s the substance? It brings the hardware threshold for ZK proofs from data centers down to consumer-grade graphics cards. If proof cost really can be driven to this level, then “using ZK to prove Ethereum’s full chain state” moves from theoretical possibility to engineering feasibility—this is one of the few concrete benchmarks that can counter the long-standing criticism of ZK narratives being “too far from real-world deployment.”

The ZK track has been calling for years, and what truly validates progress is this kind of specific number: concrete evidence of how low a cost it takes to prove a block.
