The conclusion first: In the past 24 hours, total liquidation across the entire network reached $147 million, with longs accounting for 65.7%. But the worst is not Bitcoin—it’s NEAR longs.
NEAR liquidated $10.76 million in a day, with 81% going against longs. In a four-hour window, the concentration is even higher: out of $7.03 million, 95% was longs. The largest single position—a $420,000 long—was liquidated when the price hit $4.733. The chase positions were packed too closely; once the price dipped, a chain reaction of exits followed.
By amount, BTC liquidation tops the list at $26.4 million, followed closely by ETH at $25.65 million, with NEAR coming in third. The long/short positioning for BTC and ETH is relatively close, but NEAR is clearly skewed toward longs—the direction of leverage has already given the answer.
