$BTC Bitcoin stuck without $86,000

Bitcoin (BTC) maintained trading above $83,000 on Thursday after giving up its gains following the release of U.S. inflation data that came in below expectations.

Bitcoin remained confined to a price range after its latest advance stalled at $85,600. U.S. inflation data, based on the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) index, came in below expectations at 3.4% year-over-year, but methodological changes complicated the interpretation of the figures. Open interest denominated in BTC fell by about 20%, while the price of bitcoin rose by 35% from its August low.
