Conclusion first: the STX funding rates are clearly split. On Binance and Bybit, the longs pay about 0.01% every 8 hours, while on Bitget the shorts are the ones collecting. The direction hasn’t unified yet.
With 8-hour settlements, Binance long positions are annualized at about 10.95%, Bybit short positions about 11.67%, and Bitget short positions about 11.06%. For the same STX, the difference in funding cost between exchanges is roughly 23 percentage points. Going long is like paying rent, while some short strategies actually get paid.
This looks more like long and short positions are racing ahead on different exchanges; it’s not suitable to blindly chase gains just because the funding rate is positive. Before the next settlement, first check whether the divergence is converging.
