The biggest difference when investing in Chainlink is seeing all these massive integrations with Swift, DTCC, etc., and thinking, "Okay, that’s great— but what does that have to do with the LINK token?"
That question has now been answered:
Chainlink’s overarching platform is the Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE). These organizations are integrating CRE.
All transactions routed through CRE have a "routing fee."
In addition, Chainlink services within CRE also require fees (data requests, interoperability, compliance, privacy, etc.). The more complex the transaction, the more of the Chainlink platform it needs, and the higher the fee.
The attached images are proof of this. They show examples of routing fees required when using Chainlink CRE.
Now imagine how this scales:
Swift is connecting thousands of banks to blockchains via CRE.
DTCC is connecting multiple private banking networks and public chains with their Collateral Appchain Application via CRE.
Bottomline is connecting more than 600 banks to blockchains via CRE.
Just Swift alone sent 60 million messages per day in 2025—15 billion messages total in 2025. Chainlink is what makes turning ISO 20022 messages into blockchain transactions feasible.
AI Agents will also consume LINK via CRE with Chainlink’s new product, Chainlink for Agents, enabling AI agents to act through CRE.
