The partner roster from that June wave still looked like a PPT, but $OUSD is now truly live on the mainnet.

Open Standard CEO Zach Abrams to CoinDesk (9/30): Open USD ($OUSD) has launched on four chains—Ethereum, Solana, Base, and Tempo. It’s not “in preparation”; it’s live.

The stake isn’t just being done differently—it’s an additional dollar stablecoin. In the market, $USDT/$USDC is still absolutely the biggest share—while the difference is in the way profits are split:

1️⃣ The five founding partners: Coinbase, Mastercard, Shopify, Stripe, and Visa. Each receives an initial equal share of equity. Total committed liquidity exceeds $1 billion (Abrams’ definition: over the next few months they will build positions/trade make/put tokens on-chain—it's not all fully in place on launch day).

2️⃣ Issuance-side goes via Bridge (under Stripe); custody-side names BlackRock, Lead Bank, and BNY, and says it will conduct monthly attestation.

3️⃣ Rewards/equity are tied to the supply you bring and the transaction volume—Abrams’ main point: most cap tables will distribute back based on network contribution. The slogan is “building money,” not piling on another fund that earns the interest-rate spread.

On the business side, first: payments, settlement, cross-border, card clearing, and institutional trading. It also claims 1:1 fee-free mint/redeem in supported business scenarios. The initial integration paths include BVNK, Stripe, and the Visa Stablecoin Platform; Coinbase integration is scheduled for 10/1.

Screening reminder: going live ≠ circulating volume. Public materials don’t provide the initial issuance amount/daily active users; Tempo’s liquidity targets are forward-looking—more of a projection than something that has already happened. Add UBS, SBI, Jeeves, etc. to the partner list too—it only shows the network is expanding, not that usage is proven.

Only screening, not educating. The stablecoin space is crowded—watch the subsequent attestation, circulating supply, and actual settlement volume.

Not investment advice.
