This token rose 300% in a week and is 15% below the peak. What’s interesting isn’t the news: it’s who is paying for what.
Quant won a contract with The Clearing House, which settles $2 trillion per day for 25 U.S. banks, for its network of tokenized deposits. That moved the price from $65 to $374.50. And then the price dropped 15%.
Here’s what doesn’t make it into the headline. Open interest rose 3.76% in 24 hours, to 180,556 contracts: new positions are being opened. But funding is -0.0765%, meaning shorts pay to hold their position, and six of the last eight funding payments were negative. The price rises with more people betting against it—and those people pay.
And the order book is razor-thin. $7 million in depth versus $1.586 billion in daily volume: it gets refreshed 228 times a day and only covers about 3.8% around the price. In a book like that, any level is just a number, not a wall. Cascading liquidations chain together without friction.
My short-term read: bullish with a mechanism, not with hope. If it returns to $322.51, the shorts get hedged and the OI closes. Invalidation at $252.38. In the mid-term I don’t have a measured edge, and I’m not making one up: the four QNT price and OI states are measured over 744 hours that cover nearly the entire length of this rally.
