In a $295.4 million theft case, what can be recovered is only a fraction.
The Drift Foundation says about $9.2 million worth of funds involved in the case has been frozen, and any further recovery still needs to go through legal enforcement procedures. Mandiant identified the attacker as the North Korea–linked threat group UNC6862. The stolen funds were previously bridged to Ethereum, where about 130,259 ETH are distributed across four wallets, with approximately 107,165 ETH that have not yet moved.
The $ETH contract’s current price is 2682.04; since the news was released, the price change is 0. The active buy/sell ratio is 0.892, and the value of holdings has changed by 1%. The order book did not provide a clear direction: in the last hour, sell orders were 1.04 times the buy orders.
The hovering ETH at the 100,000-coin level is a potential source of selling pressure. As long as those coins don’t move, the trend still leans in favor of the order book; once this portion of the ETH wallet begins to move, that trend will be broken.
