Target is facing a class action lawsuit that alleges the retailer raised prices to offset import tariffs and has not committed to returning a $994 million tariff refund to shoppers. According to NS3.AI, the complaint says Target received and announced the refund in August 2026 after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled the tariffs unlawful.

Two shoppers filed the case on September 25, 2026, on behalf of U.S. consumers who bought tariff-surcharged products on or after February 1, 2025. The lawsuit says no settlement has been reached.
