A $15 million Super Bowl ad for a “super” AI assistant—so far, it hasn’t produced a usable one
Loud is not as good as accessible. This saying is proving more and more true in the crypto world.
The personal AI assistant under Crypto.com’s Ai.com—after spending $15 million on Super Bowl advertising—has been in stealth mode for nearly eight months now, and ordinary users still can’t use it. Meanwhile, competitors in the same space are popping up one after another. I said it a while back: projects that rely on momentum from launch events—when their delivery timeline drags, the hype largely dissipates.
It’s not surprising that the AI track burns money. Anthropic alone has over $5 billion a year in infrastructure spending—it’s right there in the open, and the market didn’t even blink. The difference is that their money is being spent on compute power, while Crypto.com’s spend is on exposure. The product hasn’t caught up, and once you compare the pace, it quickly gives itself away.
At the same time, Hyperliquid—without holding a launch event—has pushed the spot price up to $86.14. Some people are taking asset tokenization and saying it can go to 115. It doesn’t rely on ads; fees and revenue are built right on-chain, the books are laid out for everyone to see, and it’s simply moving more steadily.
Now look at the other side of the DEX market. UNI (Uniswap) is trading at $8.81. Trading volume is still there, but the pressure from liquidations on long positions keeps building. One analysis even directly issued a risk warning of a 15% downside. Volume without price movement is the kind of structure I least want to see.
When you put the three together, it comes down to one sentence: money can buy discussion, but it can’t buy a go-live date; it can buy attention curves, but it can’t buy real revenue.
Tonight I’m watching two numbers: whether Hyperliquid can hold above $90, and whether Uniswap will dip and whether it can hit $8. The market never insults you—it only gives you a price.
Ma and his little dog never hold any launch events, yet their popularity grows day by day. That’s the difference.
