The Ethereum Foundation said it has launched sig.golf, an open automated research challenge focused on designing a stateless hash signature scheme for quantum-resistant Ethereum and proving its security in Lean. According to Foresight News, the competition will rank entries by the product of signature size and verification cycles and aims to beat existing records.

The challenge allows participants to use AI agents, and it was built in collaboration with EigenLabs based on Yukon Research.
