The agency wants private partners to open wallets, support multiple blockchains, and generate addresses in real time during police operations, without charging anything for the service.
The Public Prosecutor's Office of the State of Santa Catarina (MPSC) has published a public notice to credential cryptocurrency brokers willing to provide custody services for seized digital assets, at no cost to the State. The document was published last Tuesday (29) and creates room for exchanges to register as institutional partners of the agency in asset-confiscation operations.
The initiative is unprecedented in format: instead of paying for the service, the MPSC is looking for companies willing to offer the infrastructure free of charge, as a condition for accreditation. The model shifts the operational burden to the private sector and signals a new phase in the relationship between the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Brazilian crypto market.
The requirements are technical and operational. Interested companies must provide an on-call technical team, prepared to act during the execution of police search warrants. It is also mandatory to pre-configure digital safes across multiple blockchains and to be able to generate new addresses in real time while the operation is still ongoing.
