Wow! On Hyperliquid, the previous whale: two long trades got held for 78 days and 418 days—totaling $41 million, with an unrealized profit of $9.25 million, and not a single token was sold!
The first trade was 4.9 million LIT opened 78 days ago. Now it’s up by $6.46 million—roughly like buying the bottom around 2.65. Now it’s at 3.97, up nearly 50%. The second trade was 200,000 HYPE opened 418 days ago. They held since last August, and it’s now up by $2.73 million. This address has historically accumulated profits totaling $8.68 million—definitely a tough player.
And it’s not just whales. Lion Group, which is listed on the Nasdaq, cleared its SOL, sold part of its BTC, and on the 29th switched into 38,102 HYPE. It now holds 232,900 HYPE worth $20.1 million, and it has never sold a single HYPE.
Looking at Binance’s derivatives side: for LIT, the large-holder long/short ratio is 3.9, with about 80% of the position in longs. The whale is holding, institutions are buying, and nobody is distributing. Chasing a short trend at this point is basically playing with fire. But since the long/short ratio is so one-sided, if there’s a sudden sharp drop, the highly leveraged long positions will get flushed first. Just buy in multiple batches on dips and don’t chase the price up.
