Ethereum’s day is basically a wasted trip. Over 24 hours, the move between up and down is less than 0.1%. Binance’s current price is 2733, about the same as what it was at 8 p.m. last night, and the combined long and short liquidations totaled over $61 million.

The longs took the first cut. Last night at 11 p.m., in one hour it dropped from 2709 to 2667; after that, over the next 20 hours it never managed to get back above 2700. At 2 p.m. it probed down to a low of 2656. Along this leg, longs were liquidated for 31.16 million, with the largest single order being Binance’s 1,088 ETH long position, worth $2.9 million.

At 8 p.m., the wind direction reversed. In one hour it was pulled from 2696 to 2737, reaching the 24-hour high of 2739.5. In the past 4 hours, short sellers were wiped out for 26.44 million, accounting for 87% of the day’s total short liquidations. Longs were only liquidated for 110,000. At 8:50 p.m., on Binance a short position of 1,500 ETH was force-liquidated, totaling $4.13 million—today’s largest single liquidation for Ethereum.

It took 20 hours to break through; many people treated 2700 as an empty spot, and a single line was pulled through.

Do you think 2700 can hold this time?
