🐋 Funding PUMP +107%/year: the long side is paying for the shorts

Just looking at the funding number for $PUMP m made me freeze: ~+0.0122%/hour, which works out to ~+107%/year. Somehow the long side is having to pay the short side every few hours—a rare sight.

An explanation for those who aren’t familiar: funding is the fee the side with more positions pays to the other side. An abnormally high funding rate means one side is overcrowded. Here, Open Interest is ~279.39 million USD, 24h volume is ~219.24 million USD, and the price is barely moving (+0.35% in 24h). Longs are piling up, but the price isn’t going anywhere—the long team is holding the line and paying fees.

This is my personal observation, not investment advice. If you’re caught between these two waves, which side would you pick?
