Core PCE m/m expected 0.3%, prior 0.2%. The numbers aren’t big, but the impact is strong.
$BTC 84871, it only rose 0.77% in 24h. It looks calm, but actually it’s waiting for this data. If it really lands at 0.3%, it means inflation hasn’t been moving downward, and rate-cut expectations will keep getting pushed further back—risk assets will get hit first.
86000 above is the key level. If it can’t hold above it, then any breakout is a fakeout. If 83000 breaks below, then this rebound is over.
$XAU 4214, +1.38% in 24h. It already ran ahead. If you hedge for both safety and inflation, gold is benefiting on both ends right now. When the data is in line with expectations, it may not break down; and if it’s above expectations, it’s even better. 4300 is the next hurdle.
What’s interesting is that these two are no longer moving in sync. Previously they were both watched together for liquidity. Now one fears higher rates, and the other fears inflation. Same love, same pain—but the directions could be opposite.
The moment the data comes out, whether $BTC can hold 84000 matters far more than whether it moves up or down by a few percentage points.
So tired… another round.
