[North Korean Hackers Go Crazy Scanning and Sweeping Coins! Over $1.2 Billion Stolen This Year Already🔥]

Recently, another major hacking incident has taken place in the crypto world, but what truly deserves attention might not be the exchange that was hit.

Instead, it’s an increasingly clear trend:

North Korean hackers are becoming one of the most dangerous money-stealing forces in the crypto industry.

According to data from blockchain analytics firm Elliptic, as of now, they have tracked more than 51 crypto attacks related to North Korea this year, involving stolen funds of roughly $1.2 billion.

The recent Bitget incident is just the latest example.

Elliptic believes that the more than $350 million stolen this time shows obvious similarities to the tactics used in past North Korean hacker attacks, including rapid conversion of funds, cross-chain transfers, and links to wallet addresses previously attributed to North Korean hackers.

Even more striking: this isn’t the first time.

Last year, Bybit suffered about $1.5 billion in crypto theft. The U.S. FBI explicitly confirmed that the attack was carried out by North Korea and named the related hacking group “TraderTraitor.”

The stolen funds were then quickly converted, broken up, and dispersed across a large number of different addresses.

So the question is:

Why have North Korean hackers been targeting crypto all the time?

Because crypto’s globalization, cross-border nature, and 7×24 trading characteristics allow hackers to rapidly move funds across chains, exchange them, and split them up—making tracing and freezing much harder.

📌 So the real thing worth关注 this time isn’t “which exchange got hacked again,” but the fact that North Korea-related hackers have already formed a relatively mature system for crypto theft and money laundering.

From exchanges to wallets to cross-chain infrastructure, the entire crypto industry could become a target.

This also means that in the future, the crypto industry won’t just be competing on trading speed and liquidity—it will increasingly come down to another crucial capability: who can truly protect their assets and infrastructure.
