$ADA These 15 minutes start to have a bit of a smell.

The price is up 1.26%, and the volume directly surged to 3.25x; the Z-score is 3.19, and it closed near the top edge of the last ~20 5m-range candles—a classic range-boundary breakout.

What’s interesting, though, is the OI: the 15m contract is -0.03%, while 1h is only +0.40%. Price is rising while OI is falling—this structure doesn’t look like fresh longs stepping in; it looks more like short-covering or existing positions rotating/closing.

Aggressive volume is down 9.5%, and the buy/sell ratio is 1.21. The bids are indeed eating, but not in a particularly aggressive way.

The OI abnormal percentile is 95.2%, rank #10 in the full pool, with nominal change #15. Today this contract’s abnormality is among the top in the pool. 24h turnover is 198M—liquidity is deep; it’s not one of those fake moves where it spikes and then there’s no follow-through.

My take: this kind of structure is prone to short-term continuation, because there’s no added short-side pressure. But on the flip side, it also suggests that the longs haven’t truly加码 (added exposure). If OI doesn’t keep up afterward, this move may just be a pulse from position unwinding/covering, not the start of a trend.

Keep an eye on the 1h OI—can it continue to climb?
