The Zcash community has just approved a $1.5 million bounty for Taylor Hornby, who discovered a vulnerability in Orchard, Zcash’s private transaction processing core, that went unnoticed for 4 years.
Binance News and many outlets such as Decrypt, The Block, and CoinDesk confirm that if it is exploited before a patch, the vulnerability would allow the creation of unlimited fake ZEC. Back in June, even the announcement of the bug alone caused ZEC to drop by more than 30% in a single day.
The new reward is capped at what was approved on paper. No source has confirmed that Hornby’s wallet received real funds.
