Binance announced today (the 30th) that eligible overseas Binance Pay users traveling to Japan can now make payments at merchants nationwide that support PayPay through HIVEX®.

As of September 30, 2026, this interoperable service enabled through HIVEX® allows approximately 48 million eligible Binance Pay users from over 100 countries and regions to make purchases at millions of merchant locations across Japan; merchants that support PayPay continue to receive payments in Japanese yen.

This feature is designed specifically for travelers visiting Japan. It not only expands Binance Pay’s footprint in one of the world’s most advanced cashless payment markets, but also supports payments covering dining, shopping, lodging, and other travel-related expenditures. By making digital-asset payments more widely used in everyday and cross-border transactions, it also demonstrates how integration with mature local payment networks can connect digital assets with familiar fiat payment experiences.

The launch of this service is a continuation of Binance Pay’s expansion of the QR code payment network along major travel routes across Asia. These services broaden Binance Pay’s presence in key regional tourism markets, offering travelers a smoother cross-border consumption experience.
