Zk.money is back after being shut down for three years—this time it runs on the Aztec Network, not a reread of the old version.
1️⃣ Aztec Labs brings back self-custodial privacy wallets: balances, amounts, and counterparty details are not posted to a public ledger. You can use readable handles like bob.zk.money, or just send a payment link.
2️⃣ Deposit from Ethereum: $DAI / $USDC / $USDT; the latter two will be converted to $DAI when they enter the platform. Note: the on-chain transaction is still visible—privacy starts counting only after the deposit is onboarded.
3️⃣ Now Alpha: single deposits/charges/withdrawals of <$2,500; daily deposit limit shared across the whole network is $50,000. The documents state that the audit is not complete, and the experimental encryption carries risk. CEO Joe Andrews: on-chain transfers ≠ publicly hanging your financial history for the whole world.
Only filter: re-open ≠ audit closure, Alpha quota ≠ the main capital channel. The original version once served >75,000 wallets, handled >$100 million—history ≠ the traffic commitment for this round.
