In U.S. Eastern time on Monday, the market action was pretty split. Bitcoin is down 1.2%, to $82,930; Ethereum is down 0.2%, to $2,665. SOL fell even harder—down 3.9%, back to $117. DOGE is also down 3.6% (TradingView cites Benzinga data; price records are from the U.S. Eastern evening). If you went into the day thinking, “It’s another day of nothing special,” then the gainers list would leave you stunned.

HBAR is up 22.9% in a day—HBAR is up 22.9% in a day. ALGO is up 11.5%, to $0.1344; $LINK is up 9%, to $15.34. The top three are all rallying against the trend—one is more fierce than the next.

Why is the one falling the broader market, while these are rising? The direct reason is that U.S. Treasury yields are pushing higher again. Once rate-hike expectations come out, risk assets get cut first. Bitcoin and Ethereum, with large market caps, drop the most smoothly. As for HBAR and ALGO—well-established old-school chains—their circulating “plates” are relatively smaller, so even a bit of incoming capital can push out a big bullish candle. As for LINK, the oracle leader, its RWA narrative has been building up heat these days as well, so it’s gotten a boost too.

So basically it’s rotation. When mainstream pullbacks happen, there’s always some money that isn’t willing to lie flat—it goes hunting for low-priced assets with a “story” and starts messing around. It sounds like hindsight, but look at it: every time the broader market pulls back on shrinking volume, the top spots on the gainers list basically follow this script.

But don’t rush to chase it either. With coins that surge hard against the trend, what happens the next day depends entirely on whether the volume can step in and pick up. If you chase the price high, it’s easy to end up standing guard—stuck—on the very same day. I’m the type who watches the gainers list drooling and can’t bring myself to click. If I miss out, then I miss out; preserving my principal is stronger than anything. This isn’t investment advice—just a self-soothing statement from someone who missed the boat.
