🚨 Job data clearly cools off, but the coin price drops first in respect—what exactly is the market struggling with?

📊 On September 29, BTC briefly fell to $82,775.94 during the day, then made a small pullback. CoinMarketCap showed around $83,557, with only a 0.17% change for the full day. The price is down, but the sentiment indicators are still stuck in the greed zone.

🔥 Behind this are two sets of conflicting data. The US August JOLTS job openings came in at 7.079 million, down from the July revised figure of 7.335 million—a decrease of 256,000. Hiring was 5.192 million, while layoffs and quits totaled 1.6 million—so employment is cooling, which should, in theory, be good for risk assets.

📌 But on the other side, September consumer confidence fell from 88.6 to 81.9, and 68.4% of respondents expect interest rates to be higher over the next year. Inflation expectations are weighing on Treasury yields—and that also pressures non-yielding assets like Bitcoin.

💡 What’s truly worth watching isn’t just this single bearish candle, but the combination of “weakening employment + stubborn inflation expectations.” This makes the interest-rate path more unclear. Funds neither dare to go heavily long nor rush to exit. Previously, net inflows into US spot BTC ETFs shrank to $31 million over a single trading day, and institutions are also waiting and watching.

⚠️ A splash of cold water: sentiment is still in greed, and the ETF momentum has also faded—suggesting this is more like high-level digestion rather than panic selling. The next inflection point will be in inflation data and the Fed’s remarks. Don’t decide everything based on one candlestick.

👀 One camp says the cooling jobs data will eventually force rate cuts—that’s a chance to get on board. The other says inflation expectations haven’t eased yet—first, watch whether $82,776 can hold. Which side are you on? Chime in in the comments below 👇
