$SPCX After watching the launch process of Starship Flight 14, I still feel it’s pretty good. The only drawback is that during the ascent phase, one of the first-stage booster’s engines—an Raptor—lost contact. After the first stage separated, during the second stage’s continued acceleration, one of the Raptor engines at sea level shut down 30 seconds early. Although the engineering design has redundancy, and the mission still successfully reached orbit and released Starlink v3—with both stage splashdowns successful—my guess is that Starlink Flight 15 FAA approval won’t go through that quickly.
Given the current situation, maybe Flights 16 and 17 will recover both the first and second stages at the same time. If that works, it should usher in the real commercial era.
SpaceX’s many ideas are largely waiting on Starship’s deployment. Once Starship starts commercial operations, I think the biggest short-term impact will be that there aren’t enough launch towers, though the site expansion/construction is likely not too slow.
Personally, I’m bullish long term. I think anything below 150 is buyable—it’s just a question of whether you make a lot or a little. If your capital is limited and you want to hold for more upside, then you’ll just have to wait for a lower price level.
