Anthropic IPO valuation estimated at $2 trillion: revenue surges, losses also surge

IPO materials reviewed by Reuters show that the listing valuation discussed on the banking side could reach the $2 trillion range, higher than the private valuation of about $96.5 billion in May. The numbers from the same period are not impressive: 2025 revenue is about $4.6 billion, operating losses widened, and the reports also include a book-loss measure on the order of roughly $42 billion. In its own filing, the company also states that advanced AI may bring catastrophic or existential risks.

This is selling “future revenue” to the public markets, not selling this year’s profits. SpaceX’s IPO has already stretched the yardstick for valuations—Anthropic needs to measure itself against the same yardstick.

On the square, don’t treat the prospectus as a reason to buy crypto. The AI stock narrative and AI coin liquidity are two different pricing systems. If you don’t understand the loss structure and the compute commitments, don’t use the words “$2 trillion” to recruit orders.
