This major Apple update isn’t targeting the coin price—it’s targeting the wallet entry point on your phone.

SlowMist Security’s Chief Information Security Officer, 23pds, says that Apple’s important updates likely aim to patch a zero-day vulnerability used to steal crypto wallets. Apple also stated that it is aware of a report indicating the issue may have been exploited in extremely sophisticated attacks targeting specific individuals, affecting iOS versions before iOS 27.

The logic is straightforward: if the phone layer is compromised first, recovery phrases, private keys, and even the wallet’s operating environment could be exposed. One observation is that the risk for self-custody wallet users may rise first; another is that on devices that haven’t been updated, large-value signatures, importing recovery phrases, and connecting to unfamiliar DApps all require extra caution. Will you upgrade your system first, or pause high-risk operations for now?
