The Polygon Foundation is increasing POL staking rewards.
According to PANews, Polygon Chain’s staking rewards are expected to be raised to about 7.7% on October 1 and maintained for two months. The funds come from the network’s accumulated 27.3 million POL priority fees; this is not additional token issuance. This design is more like routing on-chain fees directly back to stakers.
In terms of facts, raising the yield will strengthen the attractiveness of locking up holdings; from what we can observe, short-term capital may focus on the “increased yield + fee backflow” signal. On the other hand, this raise has a clear deadline—what’s worth watching next is whether the staking participation rate and on-chain transaction volume can sustain the momentum after this period.
Do you care more about the 7.7% reward itself, or whether the staking participation rate will continue to rise over the next two months?
