🚨 CHAINLINK LAUNCHES CCIP 2.0 — A NEW SECURITY LAYER FOR CROSS-CHAIN TRANSFERS
Chainlink has officially launched CCIP 2.0, bringing a major upgrade to cross-chain infrastructure with stronger security controls designed for institutions and digital-asset issuers.
The key innovation is Additive Verification. Companies can now operate their own Cross-Chain Verifier (CCV) or use an independent third-party verifier, adding another verification step before a cross-chain transaction is executed.
This comes after the $292 million Kelp DAO bridge exploit in April 2026, which highlighted the risks associated with relying on a single verifier. CCIP 2.0 is designed to reduce such single-verifier dependency by allowing additional independent verification layers.
