BTC returns to around 82,500; the focus isn’t on the rebound
After BTC fell from above 84,000 to around 82,500, many people are eager to treat a small rebound as “support confirmation.”
But what matters this time isn’t whether there is a rebound—it’s whether, after this round of pullback, the market can pick up the price and push it back above 83,500.
From the 1-hour structure, price is still repeatedly trading below 83,500, indicating that overhead selling pressure hasn’t been fully digested yet; 82,500 is the most critical support area today.
In the morning, contract open interest dropped by about 2.2% versus earlier, and aggressive buy/sell was close to balanced. This combination looks more like leverage from the prior phase cooling off, rather than sudden expansion of one-sided selling pressure.
This doesn’t mean 82,500 has already held. A drop in open interest only suggests positions are being cleared; it doesn’t complete structural confirmation for price.
If 82,500 can hold and price returns above 83,500, it means this pullback hasn’t continued to expand. Conversely, if 82,500 breaks and the market fails to reclaim it for a while, attention will shift to the next support layer around 81,300.
The market will give the answer; I only track it to verify how far it goes.
