This morning PA front-line news: NEAR Intents负责人 Alex Shevchenko posted that the Bitget hacker attempted to move more than $50 million through NEAR Intents, but ultimately only $166,000 went through; another $503,000 was frozen while being processed.

Interception relies on the risk intelligence layer of NEAR Intents, SHIELD—automatically detecting abnormal fund flows, identifying transactions related to the hacker, rejecting quotes, or stopping execution. NEAR Intents also proactively gave up the 5% + 5% bounty promised by Bitget, so the exchange can recover funds to the maximum extent.

This detail is worth pondering: getting paid is only the first step; the real battlefield is in the "cash-out" stage. Cross-chain bridges, aggregators, and intent protocols are becoming the second line of defense against money laundering. The attacker holds more than 60,000 ETH yet can’t move an inch—decentralized "permissionless" doesn’t mean a green light for hackers.

The lesson for ordinary users is just as straightforward: keep your assets in non-custodial wallets on-chain, hold the private keys yourself, and you should never expect the exchange’s "protection fund" to bail you out.
