The SEC’s Division of Corporation Finance has revised its crypto-asset Q&A, adding a “no central party” condition to the token repurchase question: for systems that already have functionality and no central party, when the issuer announces a plan to repurchase non-security crypto assets, it does not constitute a statement or commitment to undertake essential managerial efforts. This is staff guidance with no legal effect, and it is not a blanket exemption for all token repurchases.

A report from the head of NEAR Intents states that SHIELD detected attempts to move suspected funds worth more than $50 million related to the Bitget incident (deduplicated). About $166,000 was moved through, while approximately $503,000 is frozen during execution. Frozen funds remain subject to restrictions, pending legal and recovery procedures. This is follow-up progress on the September 24 incident; a freeze does not mean the funds have been returned.
