The entry came in at $13,256. Then there was movement, pauses, pullbacks⊠and for a large part of the run, closing earlier probably would have seemed like a pretty reasonable decision.
But the exit signal wasnât there yet.
Finally, a new impulse arrived and the trade was closed at $15,115, leaving +13,832% PnL on the leveraged position. đ
This is something I value more and more about systematic trading: I donât have to constantly decide whether âit has already gone up enough.â I have rules in place and I let the market determine how far a trend can develop.
Sometimes that means giving back part of a gain. Other times it means being in when that last move shows upânobody knows when it will arrive.
Iâm not looking to sell exactly at the top.
Iâm looking to capture a good portion of the move.
