c2pool submits 25 XMR development budget|Mainnet goal is still a proposal, not delivery|XMR around $541, I’ll wait

My stance is that I support mining-pool infrastructure continuing to validate, but I don’t treat the development budget as a buy-coin signal. In this round of verification of the Monero community crowdfunding page, the c2pool mainnet milestone plan submitted on September 25 is still listed in the Ideas stage, with a title amount of 25 XMR. It wasn’t announced as live tonight, it hasn’t been confirmed by the community that the funding will be allocated, and it also doesn’t mean someone just bought 25 coins on an exchange.

The plan’s name emphasizes the absence of a centralized operator and the independent node process, but the goal and the current reality must be separated. I further checked the developers’ public repositories: the current XMR portion describes a single-node pre-release testnet running; multi-node consensus is still in the draft stage; and mainnet still has isolation restrictions. Running records from other coins can’t be directly used to prove that Monero mainnet deployment is already mature. Similarly, automated test passes can’t replace real validation at network scale.

Why do messages like this affect the crypto market? I believe the miner entry threshold, mining-pool dependency, and the reliability of reward distribution will influence the long-term resilience of proof-of-work networks. If the software is ultimately reviewed and adopted by different miners, it could expand infrastructure choices; but more codebases also mean more compatibility and maintenance responsibilities. A decentralized design goal doesn’t mean it can’t fail, and it doesn’t mean participants will necessarily receive stable returns. At present, it shouldn’t be written as if the entire network’s hashrate has already shifted.

I’ll look at three verifiable follow-ups: whether the proposal has officially moved to the next stage, whether mainnet-related restrictions are lifted after review, and whether real multi-node operation and payment records can be continuously re-verified. Only a fundraising title or social repost isn’t enough to cross off those three questions. 25 XMR is the application wording for development budget—not a new coin issuance amount by the network, and not revenue already paid to the developer. Ordinary coin holders have no need to migrate wallets or hand over seed phrases because of this proposal.

How is the market reacting in practice? Beijing time 04:24: Kraken’s XMR/USD recently traded around 540.56; the 24-hour rolling low was 525.00 and the high was 552.99, and the price is still within the range. I can confirm the price location, but I can’t prove that this four-days-ago proposal drove a rebound. The current hot topics in the forum and the six-hour search results also don’t show this plan becoming a new trending item—so I’ll only discuss relevant facts and won’t attach unrelated labels.

If this were my own trade, I wouldn’t participate. Assuming a zero position, my direction would only consider spot conditions for going long—not shorting, not adding leverage. Only if the one-hour close is above $544, then it retests $542 to $544 and holds, and the actual trade executions and deposits/withdrawals are available, would I consider risking at most 0.3% of total funds. Cut in half at 548, close the remaining position at 552; hard stop-loss at 539, or fully exit if two consecutive one-hour periods close below 542. If it breaks below 524.5 before entry, cancel the plan and don’t average down. If developers update the status, any confirmed safety issue appears, or there’s abnormality at an exit, I’d pause participation too.

Formal delivery and continued follow-through could overturn my decision not to participate; simply reading “mainnet milestone” as “mainnet completed” isn’t valid. What’s above is only a conditional plan for this new round—without evidence of each individual trade—so it can’t be written as if someone already bought or profited.
