Belarus has registered its first two crypto banks as residents of the High-Tech Park (PVT), according to TASS. According to Foresight News, Anna Ryabova, head of the secretariat of the supervisory board of Belarus' High-Tech Park, said the two crypto banks will first become park residents and then complete the required certification with the National Bank of Belarus.
Dmitry Kalechits, first deputy head of the High-Tech Park supervisory board secretariat, said both institutions are well-known participants in the crypto market, but their names were not disclosed. Belarusian President Lukashenko signed a decree on crypto banks in January, and the decree took effect in July. Under the decree, a crypto bank is a joint-stock company authorized to combine digital token operations with banking, payment, and other related financial services. To enter the market, it must hold High-Tech Park resident status and be included in the National Bank's crypto bank register.
