【$2.4 billion flows into BTC—why is the price starting to fall?】

This week, the Bitcoin market has shown a pretty interesting phenomenon.

U.S. spot BTC ETFs recorded nearly $2.4 billion in net inflows over the week, the largest single-week inflow in nearly a year. For seven straight trading days, institutional capital has been buying.💰

Given all this money coming in, BTC should keep moving higher.

But the actual price action isn’t like that.

Bitcoin once surged to around $87,000, and then fell back into the $83,000–$84,000 range.

This suggests one thing:

The market isn’t simply “nobody is buying BTC” right now. Instead, while the buy orders are coming in, there are also plenty of sellers above the market.

And the ETF money itself has also changed—Monday’s single-day inflow was close to $1 billion, but by Friday it had dropped to about $135 million.

So, what’s truly interesting about this round of action isn’t just “Wall Street bought $2.4 billion,” but rather:

Institutions have started re-allocating into BTC, yet for the moment those funds haven’t fully translated into sustained price breakouts.

📌 What to watch next is essentially two things: whether ETF inflows can continue, and whether BTC can regain and hold above the $87,000 area.

If money keeps coming in but the price can’t consistently break through the overhead pressure, then the market will need to reassess—whether the new capital is absorbing the sell pressure, or whether earlier holders are using the institutional buying as an opportunity to lock in profits.
