Korean retail investors bought $1.6 billion in stocks on Monday, taking the opposite side of foreign and institutional selling as South Korea’s KOSPI fell 2.70% after the Chuseok holiday. According to BeInCrypto, foreigners sold 3.23 trillion won and institutions added 1.02 trillion won more, while retail net purchases rose to 2.21 trillion won by the close.
Samsung Electronics and SK hynix, which drove the decline, both fell more than 5%.
