Crypto | On-chain Volatility | September 28
The overall market is dropping across the board. $BTC $ETH , the main subject is down by about 2 to 5 points. Even $SOL is down nearly 5 points. But there’s a kind of on-chain activity that chills me to the bone.
In today’s on-chain data, on the Base chain, the TSG has triggered three consecutive anomaly events—first a price_surge pushed it up to 76, then it surged again and dropped to 63, and finally it went straight into a price_drop. The rhythm is all too familiar to me: pump it up, dump it, then pump again and dump again—typical large-holder wash trading distribution. With a market cap of only about $1 million, they’re basically playing a relay race where retail chasers do the running.
On the BSC, the “panda head” also shows price_surge with a market cap of about $1.2 million, using the same playbook.
The BSC life chart is going the opposite direction: the price_drop signal appears first, which suggests the people picking up in the morning are getting buried, and the downside likely hasn’t bottomed yet.
On the other hand, in today’s spot gainers list, QNTUSDT is up +45.9%. At this magnitude it can still hold—either there’s a compelling narrative at work, or there’s deep market control. I lean toward the latter. In a weekend low-liquidity, reduced-volume environment, getting pulled up to this extent leaves retail traders with no real chance to get on comfortably.
No new signal has shown up in the “ignite tracking” today, which indicates the bottom-side breakout with heavy volume hasn’t appeared yet—the market is still in the washing/purging phase.
My own take: in this environment, it’s better to miss it than to chase it blindly. The most valuable on-chain signals are the ones that keep appearing and then disappearing repeatedly. Once you see it show up three times or more in a row, that’s a distribution/dispatch warning.
